TARDIS Fridge for all you Whovians

Because Whovians are by nature crazy people, they'll try to turn anything into a TARDIS. Some turn out good, many turn out bad/sad. This fridge is actually one of the better things I've seen.

Invisible Ninjas Keep Noisy Movie-Goers Quiet

Unless you want to be confronted by a group of ninjas, you don’t want to break the code of conduct at London’s Prince Charles Cinema. They won’t run a katana through you or use throwing stars, but they will pop out of nowhere and give you a stern warning.

Invisible Cinema Ninjas, now there’s a cool concept! Well, they’re not really ninjas trained in the deadly arts, but really just volunteers dressed in all-black Lycra suits called “Morphsuits”. They’re offered free tickets by the Prince Charles Cinema, in London, and have the task of keeping an eye out for any misconduct from moviegoers, during screenings. “The ‘Cinema Ninjas’ may sound ludicrous, but they have been a real success in clamping down on those ruining films for everyone else with inconsiderate behavior,” says Paul Vickery, head of public relations for the theater. “Like every cinema, we were irritated and upset by the minority of people running films for everyone else.”

One Step Closer to Male Contraceptive Pill

Surely, a birth control pill for men makes a lot more sense than pills for female. It is much better to unload the gun than shooting at a bullet proof vest! A male birth control pill has been the subject of scientific curiosity for a while, and a new study has found that rather than killing the sperm or preventing their existence, a male contraceptive pill might be the product of preventing the sperm from swimming.

Awesome Sushi Cake

Starting from the top: salmon meets avocado and cucumber, which meets rice, only to repeat itself once more in a delicious tower of Japanese–inspired gluttony. This deconstructed California roll recipe might seem a little daunting in its preparation, but the layer-cake approach seems feasible compared to the frustration of rolling your own at home.

Giant Gollum at New Zealand airport for The Hobbit

This is the giant Gollum statue installed in Wellington Airport in New Zealand by special effects maker Weta Workshop to remind everyone that's where they shoot the Hobbit movies. It's pretty terrifying. Not sure I could comfortably enjoy breakfast with that staring at me.

A guy builds UFO House to prove his ex-girlfriend wrong

Roberto Sanchez Rivera has been planning his unique UFO house for about 40 years. In a perfect world, I’d be saying his inspiration for the project was love, but this is the real world and Roberto’s true motivation was sweet revenge. In his youth years, when he was just a dreamy, artistic student from a poor family, he courted a girl by sending her love notes decorated with drawings of UFOs, and telling her he would one day build a UFO-shaped house. Not the usual pick-up lines, that’s for sure, but he eventually made her his girlfriend, if only for just three months. After she broke off their relationship, the girl’s mother told Rivera it was because she thought he would never amount to anything in life. Rather than crying his heart out, drowning his sorrow in booze or burying himself in work, the man started plotting his revenge. The truth is he was so devastated that he even contemplated suicide, but then he said “No, I’m going to show her, this person, I’m going to work that much harder to show her who I am.”

The craziest part of this story is Roberto Sanchez Rivera’s revenge plan actually worked. Although he wouldn’t reveal her identity, the ingenious builder says he once got a call from his  ex-girlfriend, while he was still working on the house. She even came down for a tour of the unfinished living space and she was so impressed that she wanted to get back together with him. Only now, it was Rivera who was no longer interested. He had gotten the sweet revenge he had dreamed of for so many years.

$16 Burger at Wendy's Japan

How many times have you been staring at Wendy's square burger patties just wishing with all your might in your heart of hearts that there was some lobster and caviar plopped on top? Your wishes will come true if you happen to be in Japan, where Wendy's is trying to become the most fancypants of all fast food joints by offering such luxury ingredients.

Wendy's has recently returned to the Japanese market, notes BurgerBusiness.com, after hightailing it outta there in 2009, and is chomping at the bit to lure in high-end customers.

The bait: A Premium Caviar & Lobster Sandwich and the Lobster Surf & Turf Burger, topped with lobster and the Garden Sensation salad with lobster and caviar. The sandwiches will run customers the equivalent of $16.28 each, whereas the salad really hits the high note at $20.11.

This isn't the first time Wendy's got all gussied up in Japan — it already has a foie-gras-and-truffle burger ($16), and an Iberian bacon chili burger ($12.47).

Doctor Who TARDIS Mini Dress and Leggings

Ever since Black Milk Clothing took over the geek chic scene with their intergalactic tights and 8-bit swim suits (not to mention the incredibly cool R2D2 and C3PO designs) girls have rallied behind the fashion line. Yesterday, BMC released a long-anticipated fan favorite – Dr. Who Tardis mini dress and leggings.

The Australian designer has found a nice niche within the clothing market: Stretchable leggings and dresses, which are easy to travel and wear. Unfortunately, these pack a serious price punch: A pair of tights will run you roughly $79.00 USD and dresses cross the $100 USD mark.
