Cheap Healthy Recipes from the Vegan Stoners
Stoners can be innovative, but it’s often restricted to figuring how to make a pipe out of whatever’s on hand. For those with a healthier bent, there is The Vegan Stoner. If you want to eat well and do it cheaply, this is the resource for you. I often don’t have time to cook as good a meal as I’d like, but TVS gives you options using canned and frozen stuff, which takes almost no time. Each recipe is accompanied by fun illustrations (of baked vegetables) reminiscent of hippie cookbooks, so you have something to stare at after you find you have a lot of time left over.

Japan's First Plus Size Fashion Show
Japan’s first fashion magazine for larger ladies, La Farfa has held its first fashion show to celebrate the launch of the debut issue on March 21st.
Comedienne Naomi Watanabe, who graces the cover of the magazine, led fourteen dokusha moderu (reader models) in a showcase of the smiLeLand 2013 Spring & Summer Collection. smiLeLand is an apparel retailer that specializes in larger sizes.
Of course, Japan is a land where the girls are known for being decidedly on the slim (if not skinny) side, so the editors and producers of La Farfa, while obviously hoping to change attitudes and broaden the market, are still being realistic about demand for the magazine.
La Farfa will be initially released just twice a year (spring-summer and autumn-winter), though with the first issue print run clocking in at a healthy 50,000 copies.

Guardians of Time at Art Dubai Week 2013
These mysterious hooded creatures are the Guardians of Time, a sculpture by Austrian artist Manfred Kielnhofer. The illuminated Guardians appear every night at a new place - currently, they are located in Dubai for Art Dubai Week 2013. The life-size sculptures look great during the day, but at night ... that's when they're truly stunning.

World's First Edible Cake Hotel
In a hotel in Soho, Central London, the world’s first ‘hotel’ made entirely out of cake opened to public yesterday.
The edible sweet dream offers guests: vanilla sponge cushions; a rug made of 1,081 meringues; windows and walls clad with 2,000 macaroons; marshmallow garlands; windowsills made from cake; a bath filled with caramel-coated popcorn; and edible books on the bedside table.
To create the edible art across the three floors and eight rooms, it took a team of 14 cake makers more than 2,000 hours of baking, 900 hours of decorating, and 600 kg of sugar.
Each of the eight tasting rooms were inspired by various regions around the world and contained unique desserts—the Mediterranean-inspired bedroom with edible furnishings, the Pirates of the Caribbean room with a giant treasure chest of edible pearls, the British-inspired Golden syrup room with a giant tower of doughnuts, the Mayan-inspired room with a fudge temple, the Mississippi-inspired ‘Mardi Gras’ room with a rainbow cake, the Barbados-inspired library with edible shells, the Guyanese-inspired room with a sea turtle cake, and the South Pacific-inspired room with a two-meter-high Easter Island statue made with chocolate mud cake.
The one-night-only edible cake hotel was to launch Britain’s largest cane sugar brand Tate & Lyle Sugars’ new ‘Taste Experience’ range of golden and brown cane sugars. “We think the cake hotel perfectly captures the excitement, inspiration and expertise behind the creation of our new range of golden and brown cane sugars,” James Whiteley, Senior Brand Manager of Tate & Lyle Sugars, said in a statement. “The Taste Experience range is about more than just adding sweetness; it’s about subtle flavor differences, texture and appearance. We hope that through the cake hotel we can showcase the versatility of golden and brown cane sugars and inspire people to get creative in the kitchen.”
