My Little Pony Resume

Is this real? The Internet doesn’t seem to know yet. If it is, we really hope Joseph’s prospective employer is really Brony-friendly. In his defense, his credentials are top-notch. Too bad everyone’s distracted by all the glitter and desperation.

Toy Story Meets The Shining

The only way The Shining could be scarier is to cast living toys as the characters, so bravo to Kyle Lambert, the artist behind Toy Shining. There’s a certain brilliance in casting Toy Story‘s Woody as the infamous Jack Torrance. And by “brilliance” I mean “insanity.” This is crazy. I think it’s in a good way.

The Next Culinary Trend: Living Food

Is this the future of culinary experiences after Molecular Gastronomy? This project explores new culinary experiences through developments in synthetic biology, and finds its lineage in haute cuisine and molecular gastronomy.

The food behaves like a living creature, entertaining us through an empathetic connection: what if food became alive like a fictional character? What if food was able to play with our cutlery and create hyper-sensations in our mouth? Synthetic biotech has already started to create artificial life in organic forms, so breathing life into artificial digestible forms is not merely a fantasy.

From Old Public Bus into Beautiful Home. I Want One.

Two women from Even Yehuda, Israel, seem to have found a practical solution to the country’s growing housing problem. They have taken a beat-down public transportation bus and turned it into a luxury home anyone would be lucky to live in.

Tali Shaul, a psychotherapist, and Hagit Morevski, an ecological pond water treatment specialist, became friends after their two sons started playing together. Sharing similar views, the two looked for a creative project and joint business idea for a long time, before finding their inspiration in the pages of a women’s style magazine. “I read an article about alternative housing solutions, such as containers and tents,” Shaul told Xnet, “and suggested Hagit and I turn an old bus into a living space.” That same week, they went to a scrapyard and bought an old public transportation bus. After stripping away all the seats and clearing up the space for the big transformation, Tali and Hagit found themselves wondering whether to keep the original outlay of the bus or turn it into a container-like space. Unable to make a decision on heir own, they reached out to their designer friend, Vered Sofer Drori, who ultimately found a way to keep the bus’ general layout and design the living space around it.

The Ramen Burger

Get ready to line up extra early at Smorgasburg this Saturday because the Sun Noodle stand will be selling burgers with ramen "buns" to the first 100 souls willing to face the world before noon on a weekend. Noodle master Keizo Shimamoto is bringing his Ramen Burger creation to the waterfront market as a kind of trial run for a potential restaurant in the future.

The burger consists of a 75-25% blend patty, a generous slathering of shoyu sauce, peppery arugula and a scattering of scallions. In lieu of bread, Shimamoto griddles discs of Sun Noodle ramen noodles in sesame oil until they are crisp, then stuffs the "buns" with the burger and fixins. He'll employ the PleatPak, an innovative burger wrapper, to ensure all the soup-y goodness from your burger doesn't leak onto your Urban Outfitters Minor Threat T-shirt.

Shimamoto ran Bassanova Ramen in Tokyo and was slated to be part of the NYC expansion until he revealed on his blog that he was no longer involved. Instead, he'll focus on getting his Ramen Burger plan off the ground, starting with this weekend's soft debut.
